COMMUNITY OF CYBERSECURITY EXPERTS

The Community of Cybersecurity Experts brings together stakeholders from the private and public sectors, industry, academic and research organizations, as well as relevant civil society associations, combining their knowledge, skills, and expertise in the field of cybersecurity. Simultaneously, the Community strengthens, exchanges, and disseminates these competencies across the Union, fostering active participation and contributions to research and educational projects. The ultimate goal of the Community is to facilitate the sharing of information, professional knowledge, and skills among its members. The Community’s support for the European Union is pivotal for maintaining and enhancing technological and industrial capacities, as well as addressing challenges in the field of cybersecurity.

The pan-European Community includes national coordination centers, European Digital Innovation Hubs where applicable, and EU institutions, bodies, offices, and agencies with relevant expertise, such as ENISA.

OBJECTIVES OF THE COMMUNITY

  • Facilitating collaboration and expertise sharing among all relevant stakeholders, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises, academic, educational, and research communities, and the industry.
  • Strengthening the Community’s knowledge capacity.
  • Protecting our economy and society from cyberattacks.
  • Preserving research excellence and enhancing the competitiveness of the European cybersecurity industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF COMMUNITY MEMBERS

  • Supporting the ECCC in fulfilling its mission and objectives and closely cooperating with the ECCC and NCC.
  • Participating in formal or informal activities.
  • Assisting the Competence Center and national coordination centers in promoting specific projects.

 

ELIGIBLE MEMBERS

  • Membership in the Community is open to all business entities registered in the Republic of Croatia.
  • Members must demonstrate their capacity to contribute to the mission and their expertise in cybersecurity related to at least one of the following areas:

– Academic research or innovation.

– Industrial development or product development.

– Training and education.

– Information security or incident response activities.

– Ethics.

– Formal and technical standardization and specification.

APPLICATION PROCESS FOR MEMBERSHIP

The NCC evaluates applications to verify compliance with membership prerequisites. Upon a positive evaluation, the NCC forwards the application to the ECCC for the formal registration of the entity within the Community. Registration becomes official only after the ECCC’s acceptance and notification.
